This quilt took me a loooooong time (completed during the #feathersqal). I faltered between giving up because it was too much work and loving it so much it was totally worth it. I ended feeling the latter. After all of the paper piecing and sashing work, I went for simple quilting… just in the ditch on either side of each strip… lazy but functional.
The back was pieced using one of my very favorite Anna Maria Horner prints of, well, feathers, another AMH print from her true colors collection, and some of Nest by Mark Hordyszynski that was used as the background in the front.
The binding is scrappy with a bit of every blue AMH fabric used on the top of the quilt.
Anyway, definitely the hardest and most beloved quilt I have made.
Linking up with crazy mom quilts for finish it friday
Very nice finish!
Thanks!! 🙂
This quilt is gorgeous! Isn’t it sometimes the ones that you struggle to finish that feel the greatest once actually done! This one is worth the effort–so beautiful! Nice job! I love the colors and the grey background is the perfect balance.
Thank you so much !! I really appreciate the nice comment.
Yep, totally worth your time and effort! Great job!
Thanks Kelly! 🙂
This is gorgeous, and I love the photos! the one with the car is so unique!
Thanks Snowcatcher! I think the little car makes a nice backdrop too… may have to use that one again.
Nice work and congrats on pushing through to the finish! Nice photo styling. This makes me want to go on a road trip!
