DH recently fixed some, ahem, issues with our kitchen ceiling. And I have been slightly inspired to redecorate it a bit – editing, mostly, to go with a vintage vibe. There is this weird space that needed a custom-sized thingamy. So I made a quilt, of course.
I love the colors in this one. Actually fairly composed for me. I used red for the stars, low-vintage text for the background, and some reproduction and vintage fabrics for the borders, including the yellow from Dreamin’ Vintage line and some greens I had left over from an American Jane Layer Cake. For the aquas, I used V&Co’s aqua ombre. Love the fabric and proud that I was composed enough to use a solid-ish fabric. It really does pull it together.
I quilted it in 1.5″ square crosshatch. That is a lot of quilting for me, but it gives it a lot of texture and the waffle-pattern goes along with the vintage feel.
I am glad to have this one done. Pictures of it in-situ if I ever get a decent light to take pictures in my kitchen. For these, I borrowed the light of a park.
