WIP: Hexagon Placemats

I have been working on these for awhile.  Six placemats for my dining room table.  Am I seriously writing about decorating my dining room *again* on this blog?  I promise there are additional aspects to my personality.  Really, truly.

These are tough, but fun.  Using the ruler set from Jaybird Quilts.  I love piecing them, love the look.  But binding is hard.  When all said and done, it will be 36 (!) not 90-degree corners.

They look puffy when quilted because I used the thermal binding, so hot plates can go on them without worry for my table.

Designed when i was totally into pastel rainbows.  Ya know, before it was the depths of fall.  It is always spring here.
